What to do with my fish?

In a few months I'm moving and can't take my 40 gallon tank with me. I really don't have the time to put tank and all equipment up for sale on craigslist or others so will have to hope maybe will sell during house sale. But that isn't my biggest concern.
I've been trying real hard to find homes for my 5 Denson barbs 4 platies 1 tetra and 1 cory. So far no luck and no fish stores in my area will take fish back. I only have 1 option left and I hope friends doctors office will accept them in his tank. Otherwise I will have to do the unthinkable and they will call me a mass murderer. And if it comes to this how would I do it to make it as pain free for my little fishies.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you have a smartphone craigslist has a free app you can post with, easy as a quick descriptions, snap some pics and done. If you have a few months it shouldn't be hard to move.

Bet if you put everything for free on Craig's List it would go fast.
It doesn't take long to place an ad. No longer then lugging everything to the doctors office or if they won't tank them.

It's a better option than putting all the fish down

Please do the responsible thing and try and give the fishes to someone who can take them. You can post an ad ( as suggested with Craigslist or other local free ad )

I understand that peoples situations changes and I am trying not to judge. When we take on any pets though, whether it be a fish or a dog, we have to have that commitment to do what's best for them and treat them as life long friends.
I hope you can find someone to take your fish.

Have you posted here on FL?

You can always try your local animal shelters , or donate the tank and fish to a nursing home or school in your area, Alison

Facebook groups are always pretty surefire. Just make sure you check on who is getting your fish - lots of shall we say....less suitable candidates for keeping live animals on those pages.
