So about 2 weeks ago I got a 55 gallon with 1 jack Dempsey and 2 convicts in it. I have put the Jack by it's self in the 55 gallon and I put the 2 convicts in my empty 15 gallon until I could give them to my LPS. Well I contacted my LPS about taking them and they said no, and the convicts are not getting along. As of now I have the 15 gallon devided with 1 convict on each side. Ik the need at least a 30 gallon but I don't have any more room or money to spend on a tank like that. What should I do? What would you do? Please help.

NO NO NO NO NO! Don't euthanize him! Look up other LFS near you, cause ALL of mine will take fish in, and I'm surprised yours didn't. Even so...Post on craigslist/offer up/etc! I would take them if I could! You can definitely find a good home for them!

They're convicts, they sell for a dime a dozen at LFS, Petco, PetSmart you name it. I seriously doubt anyone would take them even for free. Euthanasia sucks, but it's the best option

You tried admirably to re-home these fish. You are not taking the cowards way out and adding non-native species to your local river, stream or lake so that you don't know if they make it or not but it's not on your conscience. Euthanizing is very hands on...You transition them to a state of twilight and you gently put them to sleep. That is to be admired.

Key words there "IF I COULD" most all fish keepers would want to take them... IF they could (we all love fish - that's why we keep them). The reality is, obviously, as the OP stated, no one has the space for these fish.
