What to do after dosing alum??

Hello, I watched a video on YouTube where they use alum to kill hydra in your aquarium. I just found a TON in my old 29G cichlid tank that I was preparing to be a quarintine tank. I dosed 2 bottles roughly 7 oz with NO FISH in the tank, and am letting it sit for 3 days. So it is the third day, and there is no info on what to do after day 3. So tomorrow I plan on doing a water change, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have advice? Everything is covered with a white film from the powder. I even shook it up in a bottle with the aquarium water before putting it into the aquarium. Anywho, any suggestions on what to do from here? Much appreciated!

It was planaria that I was eradicating. My bad. But yes the name of the video is called How to Get Rid Of Planaria by Girl Talks Fish. All of the planaria have died in my tank as well. So I'm probably going to do a 75% waterchange

In that video she didn't put the Alum in the tank. She used it for a plant dip before putting them into the tank. To kill them beforehand. Im going to have to investigate how to clean it out. I dont think you can put fish in there now.

Ahh darn, I blame it on my brain fog
I will probably just take everything out of the aquarium and trash the sand cuz that is probably not safe or worth risking.

Im trying to figure it out. They use it for ponds so I dont think its lethal. I think you may be doing a bunch of cleaning. What is your pH level?

Probably best. Where are the fish right now?

There are no fish in that tank. The cichlids went into a new 75 gallon tank and are content and happy. I have plenty of time to flush it out. :)
