What To Do About Lighting While I'm On Vacation

I'm leaving town for 14 days on vacation. I'm not sure what to do about lighting while I'm gone. I don't have a timer for my light and I don't want to leave my fish without light for that long of a period. I do have a fluorescent light on the ceiling above my tank. It's an old light and its not very bright. There's plenty of places for my fish to hide in the tank that would provide it with some "dark time." Would it be ok to leave that on for the entire time?

Agree, Timer. Very inexpensive. Less than $10

Left for 15 days. Fish were only fed twice during that period, (not the original plan, but probably worked out better in the long run) Lights were never turned on.
Not one loss in 10 tanks.

I leave a curtain in the room cracked a bit when I leave town.... Not much light obviously but just enough to tell night and day. Done it for years, never had issues.

When I'm leaving for an amount of time, which I do quite often, I open my windows and let natural light in, then turn off my tank lights and leave them.
