What Thermometers do you suggest?

Recently, there’s been a absolute need for thermometers on all of my tanks, and I haven’t been able to find any reputable brands to get them from. I like digital, but don’t want them to go bad on me as quickly as they have. They also shouldn’t be expensive, because I need to buy a few of them at once. I only have one thermometer on my ten gallon, but my other three tanks need them. I have been the digital ones by CoraLife, but those are not accurate for very long. What can everyone suggest?

Oh, and I would also like to find a sponge filter that you recommend. I am going to use those in my tanks.

Capture+_2018-07-10-08-44-20.png I posted a link for you of the most popular and probably best sponge filter. Personally I love fluval for all their filters. That's my go to brand. Best bang for the buck and I have never had a problem. Thermometers on the other hand, the digital ones have always been a problem. I had one that did ok for a little while and I'm sry I don't remember what it was, but I stopped using them after that last one went bad. Really, analog is the way to go for those kinda things. The normal everyday 2$ analog thermometer I use has never ever been a problem or wrong for any reason. I will never go back to digital again, I can't trust them and when you need to know it's kinda important that it's accurate. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear but I am just telling you my experience with them has also been a let down regardless of brand. I'm sure some ppl have problems with them, some don't, but you will rarely if ever meet someone who had a problem with a regular analog thermometer.

I've found the Marina floating thermometers to be accurate. They're only a few dollars

I saw those and considered them, they may be my choice.
Thanks, that’s everything I needed to know!

Lustar/ATI Hydro Sponges have always worked well for me. They use weighted bases though instead of attaching to tank wall like the one above.

To each his own. I personally like the reliability of analogs. Can't go wrong. But I understand digital is always nice

I have issues with my double-sponge filter, but it's not this brand. Basically the air bubbles up through the filter instead of the center piece, no matter how I adjust it. I have 2 HikarI Bacto-surge sponge filters and I don't have this problem with them. The small size comes in a corner version, which is convenient for small tanks with limited floors space. My double filter takes up a HUGE area, and when I looked it up (it's XY brand) I think it's only rated for 10 gallons... which was crazy given its size. I got it second hand though, so I could be mistaken about that. Again, nothing against the Huijukon in the picture, but that's my experience with double-sponge filters.

As for thermometers...I'd like to follow this I keep seeing the 3 packs of digital thermometers for $4, but seriously doubt their quality. If you just need to check on your temp and don't need a continuous log, what I use is one of these: --it's quick, accurate, and I can just go read all my aquariums in a few seconds, and the water I'm using for changes as well. They WILL fall out of calibration eventually, but I'd give it a year of steady service or more. It's what my husband used in his job as a food safety inspector
