The size of it made me think lymphocystitus or a tumour but when I enlarge the picture it looks like several bumps underneath working their way out...which would be parasitic. how long has it been that way? Are there any other symptoms or changed behaviours?

It's also very red. Or is that shadow I'm seeing?

I’m not a fish illness person but i have to agree that it looks like a parasite.

I know red spot disease is fungal, however it creates more of a lesion (scrape or hole) than a bump. Still thinking parasite. Can you quarantine the little guy?

She has had a small bump there for a few months. It suddenly got MUCH bigger. And yes, it is red. Almost looks like the scales are bleeding. She is acting fine. Eating fine. Swimming all around. That's what's so confusing.

Unfortunately I can't. I have no other set up.

Hi,

What is the tank size?
Filtered?
How long has it been set up?
Did you introduce anything new in the past 4 months?
Levels for
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate

looks like a tumor to me.

Would you be willing to fill in the Fish emergency template? It gives lots of information so you're not answering single questions constantly and people can give you a more informed opinion. Fingers crossed it's something you can help your fishbaby with. :)

The tank is 35 gallons.
It has been set up and going strong for more than 5 years.
Nothing new has been introduced in the last year, including fish. I have had the white one for nearly 3 years. I took my water to be tested at Petco. The "fish expert" told me everything is perfect. When I showed her the pictures, she said she had never seen anything like it before.

Well,
First off, 35 gal is too small for goldfish, so that may be a issue here.

I dont think its a parasite. A tumor. My guess is.

What were the actual numbers for the test?
