What Size Air Pump Should I Get? 10 gallon aquarium

I went out and bought a 4 gang valve for my 10 gallon aquarium. I want to use 2 valves for both of my UGF air lift tubes in the 10 gallon. Use 1 valve for a sponge filter in my 5 gallon betta tank. And 1 valve for a decorative air stone in my other 5 gallon tank.

I tried using my current 10 gallon whisper air pump, but as soon as I connected the 3rd air line I lost significant aeration to my 10 gallon UGF.

All 3 of the tanks are within 2 feet of each other and the pump is located underneath the middle tank.

Could I just buy a 20 gallon pump for all 3 tanks?

Thank you.
I was wondering if the 20 gallon pump would be enough or not... I'll check out the 30-40 at the LFS today.

A Fluval Q1 air pump can be had for about $17.

It has dual outlets. Each outlet rated at 126 liters per hour of air. The pump uses only 4 watts of power.

One outlet can run your UGF lift tubes. The other outlet can run your sponge filter and air stone in the other 2 tanks.

I have a Q1 running 2 sponge filters, one in a 75 gallon and the other in a 10g.

It works well for me.

if you have a betta you do not need a pump or filter. they can use spring water and be fine

I just happened to buy a Fluval Q1, however it's not for this, it's for my new 37 gallon tank.. Here's what I did to resolve this for the other 3 tanks.

I decided to just upgrade the air pump in my 30 gallon tank and that meant I now had an extra pump. And so I just juggled a few pumps around as follows.

First for I upgraded the Whisper 10 gallon air pump to a Aqua Culture 20-60 gallon Air pump from Walmart. I attached that to the 4 gang valve using 1 valve for each UGF air lift tube and 1 valve for a sponge filter.

Then for the 2 smaller 5 gallon tanks; I got a Top Fin Air-2000 Air Pump and used a 2 gang valve. One valve for the air stone in one tank and one valve for the minI sponge filter in the betta tank.

Ahhh ok. Well that may be true however I wouldn't dream of keeping my betta or any fish without a filter. Even my ramshorn snail tank has a filter and an air stone

My Male betta tank already had a built in filter that just wasn't cutting it so I had added the minI sponge filter.
Since then I've modified the built in filter with some Fluval biomax evo spec flex filter media. And moved his minI sponge filter to my new shrimp tank, where might I say it's doing a great job and my shrimp are very happy.
