What Should I Feed My Common Goldfish?

I have a young common goldfish and I'm not exactly sure what to feed him but I know I need to change his diet. I've been trying to look up common goldfish specific information but all I can find is information for fancy goldfish. I consistently hear SakI HikarI as a recommendation and I'm definitely considering purchasing it, but first I wanted to ask a more experienced goldfish keeper about something. Even though SakI HikarI is marketed as a fancy goldfish food, would it be the best option to feed my goldfish? If not, please let me know what other foods I could get him.
I'm looking for a food that,,,,
1. Promotes growth
2. Keeps my little man happy and healthy

Thank you!!

Just one little question? What size tank do you have him in? I feed mine Tetra Koi Vibrance. And hulled frozen green peas. Goldfish grow pretty fast. As long as they’re eating, they’re going to grow. Your common could get from 12-18”. As long as the food is good quality and they’ll eat it (mine won’t eat hikarI foods) you’re going to have a big fish. Good luck.

Hello mom...

I keep Comets and standard Goldfish and feed a blend of Goldfish flakes and freeze dried foods. They like tubifex worms, mysis shrimp and bloodworms. I also feed shimp pellets and algae wafers. HikarI and Tetra have some good foods. I also feed some organic minced garlic. Goldfish of any sort like vegetable matter., so I have Duckweed and Ancharis plants floating in the tank.

You can feed him veggie scraps (like cucumber, zucchini, peppers, and even fruits like cantaloupe), no acidic veggies or fruits (no tomatoes, oranges, limes).
I fed my goldies koi food because they were outdoors, they ate mosquito larva (live bloodworms), and many other types of bugs that grew in the water. They will eat just about anything but a more veggie based diet will keep their digestive track moving cleanly (the more meaty diet helps with growth if you are wanting them to grow quickly).

I would feed a combination of stick foods and Repashy Soilent Green.

I should’ve said duckweed too. I can’t keep it long so I didn’t even think of it. Azolla too. Thanks for the reminder!
