1 Gallon Tank What should i do with a 1 gallon tank my cat knocked over.

If you looked at my profile I have a 1 gallon corner tank the two blood fin tetra in it are now dead due to a mischievous cat pulling the tank off the shelf while I was at work. There is just enough water in that the gravel is still wet and will remain so it was cycled and had a healthy bacteria bed in it.
I need to replace the incandescent bulb in it but other than that there is nothing wrong with it aside from its size.

Any suggestions or should I tear it down and wash the gravel and then be done with this tank or should I re fill it and keep it setup with something to stop the cat from a repeat performance. And if so what would be a good thing to put in it. There is a UGF in it a 4 watt night light and a plastic plant in 2 inches of glass gravel.
The one good thing about when it happened is I had just cleaned the tank so the water that got spilled was relatively clean.

I had that thought too I would need to locate it near a window or some how rig up a better light for it for anything to grow in there java moss was having difficulty growing in it. Would you do the 1 gallon or the 3 gallon as shrimp? The 3 gallon might be easier to put a desk lamp over but I would be tempted to put more than shrimp in it.

I would use the 3 gallon as shrimp tank with Neocaridina and the 1 Gallon as Shrimp tank too but stocking it with Opae Ula, Hawaiian Volcano Shrimp

The only thing that will fit in a 1 gallon is shrimp. I love shrimp though You should heavily plant it and fill it with shrimps.

A snail tank would be cool

I'm thinking snails too! Different varieties would be cool! and your cat probably won't be as tempted since they're usually slow moving......

well... some thing happened that might make me abandon the use of it entirely I just got offered a 35 or 45 gallon tall tank he was not sure of the exact size ill be able to go see it and take measurements tomorrow... Humm red lava rock + pfs white tannish color what to put in besides about 30 guppies

if I end up getting it ill need to re think my current plans my two betta might get to share a 15 gallon long instead of a 10g. 10 gallon might become a hospital/breeding tank 3 gallon and 1 gallon and 5 gallon not sure

Or the 15L could become home to a school of tetra glow light and neon.

I would still do a shrimp tank I have four tanks, my largest being a 55 gallon, and I still love my little 2.5 gallon shrimp tank. Shrimpies are so fun.

Leave the bettas in the 10, do neons and shrimp in the 15. For the bigger tank, I would get a school of small cories and some snails. If you got a few less guppies you could think about a centerpiece fish. Then, since everything you're keeping will be small, use the 3 gallon for qt/hospital.

Well I'm thinking of making the 1 gallon corner tank into a filter put a head unit on the UGF and then put 5 inch of gravel in the bottom followed by filter floss with some AC maybe then topped with more gravel put the 1gal tank in a bigger tank. Throw the useless top the 1 gallon had into a closet or garbage bin.

The 5 gallon will be a hospital tank or shrimp tank the 15 gallon will be shrimp + tetra and something else.

Another vote for shrimp tanks! I easily spend as much time watching my shrimp as I do watching my fish. They are fun little critters.
