Like a walk in the woods after rain
Agreed.

Mine has a slight smell. Doesn't smell like nothing, but I can tell if I stick my nose pretty close to the water.

An aquarium should smell clean and fresh with no stink at all, if you have a smell you need better filtration and that's the bottom line.

As Paradise Fish said above, I feel my tanks are healthiest when the water smells sweet enough to drink (though I don't!).

My tank is odourless. I try to get a smell from it but it’s just odourless. Maybe because I have just one fish in it and it’s not over stocked.

I know with my betta and two snails it smells kinda pondy. But I have to REALLY be sniffing it and get REALLY close to the water. I like it though.

I used prime to condition my water because I read all the praises for it and it smelled like sulfur. It was gross. So I went back after a month of trying, to my old water conditioner and it smelled great again.

Maybe it's what you put in your tank. I use Seachem prime. It has a very distinct rotten egg stench aka sulfur. But it's a great product.

My 30 gallon community honestly doesn't smell like anything at all. Sometimes tanks smell like aglae if they haven't been cleaned/have an algae problem though.

I think it should smell like fresh clean earth. not fishy at all.

Mine smells sort of earthy. But maybe that's because it's established and has lots of live plants.

Yeah..that was what I used.... I switched because it was reviewed as the best... my water smelled fine before that. It wasn't bad... but during the summer it was more noticeable.at first I thought there was something wrong until I smelled the bottle itself. But it is really good to use. I saved my bottle for winter. Because winter is coming!

Earthy smell is ok but when it smells really funky like rotten then you need to do something like a water change.

Alas, the fish aren't complaining (of course, that's me assuming) lol. It's definitely an unwanted "perfume." It works great, as not diluted. Refrigeration won't do anything, but may help with the overpowering "aroma" in the summer. I would put it in a thick plastic bag (or 2 0r 3) so it doesn't stink up the fridge.

Thanks! That sounds like a great idea!
