What Plants are good for beginners?

I have a 10 gallon tank that is currently cycling. The tank is a bit bland and I was thinking of adding live plants. I am not too advanced in the hobby of fish so I am looking for plants I can add that are low maintenance and don’t require much lighting considering I have a led hood for lighting as of now. Any recommendations ?

Anubias, anacharis, water wisteria, Christmas moss, marimo moss balls (if you can find them), java fern...I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of.
Everything I listed (not including the moss/moss balls) can be grown floating or with the roots planted (careful of the rhizome).
how do I go about planting Anubias and Java fern?

Most crypts, amazon frogbit, hornwort. Could try vallisneria and bacopa as well. I've grown crypts under some of the worst lighting conditions with sand substrate and no ferts with no problems what-so-ever - best low light plant IMO.

Both of these are rhizome plants and do not need to be planted in a substrate. You can use thread or super glue/aquarium glue to attach them to rocks or wood - I personally just like to wedge them between two pieces of hardscape instead of attaching them. That way I can move them later on if I don't like their placement. They technically can have their roots submerged in substrate - but it's vital that you do not cover their rhizome.

Well there is a difference between low light and beginner isn’t there? I would also say Buce, which like anubias and java fern is a rhizome plant and should be planted like java fern and anubias.

It's super easy.
1.You can use aquarium safe glue to glue them to a rock, driftwood or decorations.
2. Use fishing line to tie them to something (until they attach by themselves)
3. Plant just the roots in the substrate. DON'T bury anything above the roots
4. Anubias can be left to float, my bettas love resting on the leaves near the top

Annubias, Hornwort and Anacharis

Get some of each in your tank and see what happens!

These are great hardy plants that are perfect for the aquarium.

These are still my favorites! They are not just great plants for beginners, but for everyone.
