What phobias do you have?

Believe it or not I used to have a fish phobia!!

I had Goldfish as a child, loved them. We had (pre-historic) filters and my mum and dad looked after them but the last one had bloat! HORRID to see. After that I freaked! Couldn't be near fish, dead and definitely not live ones! This lasted at least 14 years!

Odd to say but after a bad accident with my horse I lost my confidence riding and went to a hyponotist for help. I came away with my love of fish back and still nervous of riding!!

What are your phobias? BTW I HATE spiders!!!

My phobia is of being unwanted/alone.
(used to be spiders and snakes, but I overcame those through learning more about them)

I'm a xenophobe, I am afraid of strangers. I don't know why, maybe all of the times my parents told me "not to talk to strangers" scared me a bit too much. :;jk

But no, not really. I am claustophobic however and I know why. My older brothers liked to put me in cardboard boxes and tape them up.

mine is not really a phobia it's just that I want to know where or what everytthing is. Basically I hate being surprised like a spider drops to your face even though I enjoy them

lol I have a phobia of swimming in water that I can't see my feet in. If it's in a pond, then if it's too murky, I can't swim. If it's the ocean, once I go deep enough and I can't see my feet, I freak out. Only once in a while will I boogie board out a little farther....eek!!! I'm afraid of toe nippers!

well, there's probably enough tourists peeing in the ocean to keep the little fishes out at sea. you'd love the ocean here.. all the schools of minnows that love to zip by as you walk along.. or the little crabs that pop up out of their little under-sand homes.

oh.. grrr.. it's just too easy to remark on the crabs.. :;a so, I'll be good and go back to phobias.. I think i'd have a phobia of getting the treatment that the mummy got at the beginning of the first movie.. that'd be a good phobia.

HA! finally someone else had the thought before me.

Well if we're talking phobias - I can't stand syrup. It's silly, but it's all sticky and disgusting. It's not a good aversion to have if you have kids. They are invariably sticky.

I don't think it is the heights, it's the fall followed by the sudden stop(when you hit the ground).
But I am deathly afraid of needles in my mouth(at the dentist) and just afraid of the heights too.

Spiders(one jump on me and bit me on the cheek. My cheek was swollen for about 2wks. I will never go near one even to kill it ever again), heights, claustraphobic, then being alone.

I'm terrified of strong winds, and I don't mean just hurricane or tornado winds...just regular, windier than average days. I freak out.

I used to be afraid of being in a bathroom where the shower curtain was completely closed because I always felt like somebody was hiding in the tub behind the curtain. :

Hey!!!! >

My dad always liked to close the shower curtain all the way so that it wasn't all bunched up while it was wet, but I'd ask him to just leave it open about a foot so I could see that nobody was there.

If that happened to me i'm sure i'd die on the spot! Or would have to cut my cheek off i'd be so freaked out!!!

I have a list...

Merinthophobia, Fear of Being Bound, and Fear of Being Tied Up. I had an MRI at children's hospital when I was 14 and they straped me down with velcro. They had to bust out the liquid valum- I freaked. I think it is because I am afraid that there would be a fire and I couldn't get out.

Spiders and bugs of all sorts-- mulitple eyes and exo-skeletons totally give me the willies!

Heigths! Seriously makes me get sick-- but I love to fly so that is weird. I can't climb the Lighthouse in St. Augustine because you can see through the stairs-- they are like metal mesh. And once we went cliff jumping in college-- I didn't jump, instead I puked in the woods while my boyfriend jumped. That is the jerk I married so maybe I should've given him a push! Just kiddin. :;a

Sharks-- I am so terrified that I am going to be eaten by sharks. I have a hard time getting into the ocean. In fact I am just scared of natural bodies of water because you never know what is lurking under you thinking about takin a bite. There are catfish in the Ohio River the size of a Volkswagon, and that is not exaggeration! Documented truth! No Lie!

Supernatural weird stuff-- can't watch scary movies if it isn't something that could happen. Lets face it, Jason always comes back-- that is freaky and I don't like it. At least in Scream it was just 2 weird high school students.

Hmmm-- seems like I am a scaredey cat-- but I am really not.

I HATE bees, every time i've been out to mow this summer, i've been stung, once I mowed right beside a yellow jackets nest, and god knows how many bees came out at me, luckily most of them were trying to sting me through my shorts and shirt, but didnt get me...I live in the country, so I get stung a lot...and I hate every single bee in the entire world...every time one flies by my head I duck and sometimes run...especially if it is a really loud one

but I like ducks
and papa smurf :;ps

lol.. all the years I lived here, i've only climbed that stupid lighthouse once - last summer when Stacy's aunt visited.. those stairs are worse going down than going up, aren't they! that's when you really feel and see that grid-mesh circular stairwell. try doing it while videoing. I didn't mind the heights, I kind of like that feeling heights give you, but it was hard breathing after all those stupid stairs.. they need to put in an elevator I think.

YUP-- have to add bees to the list-- anything with a stinger. I have never been stung in my life and it is my goal to make it through without ever getting stung!! Why start now right???

One of the keepers died of a heart attack from climbing those steps carying the lamp oil. I can see why. I only make it to the first landing before I get dizzy. It is on the list of things to do before I die though.
