What other larger species of fish can I add with my very large veiled angelfish?

I am wanting to a new fish, something larger that won't agitate my angelfish. Maybe a neon blue dwarf gourami? Any suggestions would be helpful.

It would depend on the size of the tank and what you consider large.
rams and keyholes are commonly compatible.

Do you currently have any other fish in the tank besides the angelfish?

45 gallon hexagonal. 6 marble hatchets, 6 platy, 6 cory, 5 rummies, 2 sword tails. Fish doesn't have to be huge just larger than like say my platy.

That sounds pretty much fully stocked to me, mainly because it's a hexagonal and doesn't offer the lateral swim space of a typical 40-50 gallon tank. Another biggish dominant fish might be pushing it.

Sometimes it seems a bit empty. I'd just like to add 1 more fish with some color. Maybe the electric blue ram would work.

What are the dimensions of the tank? I'd be hesitant to keep a full grown angel in any hex tank.

My angel has a ton of space. The hatchets stay at the top. The Rummies School Pretty low. Cory ' s hide in structures or near live plants. Platy go all over like the sword tails. 24" across if I remember correctly 30" tall.

It was actually recommended on here that I get an angel because I had picked up a hexagonal tank. I bought the aquarium stand and everything they had for $75. For the most part it has been a great buy. Now, would I rather have a rectangular 50 gallon? Yes. It would be full of all colors of ciclids, as I have previously had some years ago.

I bought a blue ram. I just love his temperment. Nothing bothers him and he doesn't bother anyone else. Such personality!
