My Betta suddenly got popeye today. It started yesterday with a bump on his forehead, the bump has gone down now but his eye is really concerning me. I gave him an Epsom salt bath and have isolated him in a new tank. What medicines are best to help treat the popeye? Please help.

Giving this a bump up for you hope members can help you today, in the meantime I’d do extra water changes as good clean water will help the healing process

Epsom salt was a good start, I would make sure the water in your quarantine tank is good as well. Do water changes as necessary. Pop eye is usually a symptom of an infection or underlying condition.

Our boy also got popeye on Monday. We treated it with Erythromycin and by day 4 there was no swelling left.

Yeah the 'pop' is fluid accumulation to protect against infection. Usually a gram negative bacteria.

I'm not familiar with bettas, but daily water changes can't hurt for immediate treatment. Also a safe method would be to condition the water with catappa leaves (Indian Almond Leaves). I prefer to put them in a media bag in the flow of the filter so I don't have a mess in the tank when i'm trying to treat my fish.
