Hi we got this fish over a year ago from a carnival and are wondering what type of fish it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It
is living with other fresh water fish in an aquarium so could it be a goldfish? We thought goldfish couldn’t live with other fish.

When we first got the fish, it was much smaller and greenish gold. As he grew he got a black stripe on its back and once it grew to the size it is now, it lost the stripe. Thank you for the welcome as well.

It's definitely a goldfish as far as I can tell. Common goldfish aren't usually reccomended to be kept with other fish due to their huge eventual size (over a foot long) and their ideal water temperature which is lower than most other fish. They're really more of a pond fish for these reasons, though they can be kept indoors if the aquarium is big enough.
