I've got a 29 gallon tank, with an Aquaclear 110 on it. I have a sponge prefilter on it to keep the baby snails from getting sucked into the impeller to their death. So far so good.

But it clogs rather quickly, and the baby snails LOVE feeding there. So there are always tons all over it, as well as inside it.

So taking it off to clean it off is a real pain. I either lose snails, or it takes me forever to try and pick them out (and I never get them all).

What filters do you all use in tanks with baby snails to best avoid their deaths? How do you clean them most efficiently to minimize their deaths but not take all day to get the job done?

Thanks!

The best way to avoid deaths on baby snails is to keep bleach away from your tank. Seriously you'll end up with sooo many snails you'll want to take the sponge off.
