What Kind Of Fertilizer Do I Need For These Plants?

I have finnex 24/7 lighting and pool filter sand for substrate for my aquariums and am wondering if the only fertilizers I need for these plants would be root tabs or do I need to add something to the water column too? If so how how often do you add the root tabs to the sand? Any recommendations for root tabs or other ferts?

All plants will benefit from water column fertilization. You can try something simple like Seachem Flourish Comprehensive.

Don't bury the java fern. It's rhizome should stay above the substrate. You can tie or gel super glue it to wood, a rock, etc.

The two swords (marble and Amazon) are root feeders that would benefit from root tabs. The wisteria is a column feeder that will take its nutrients from the water, like the fern.

I use Seachem root tabs because they're convenient but there are many options. As for frequency, monthly or quarterly is common. It depends on how big they are and how much they need.

Ok that’s what I thought, to use both since I had column feeders and root feeders! Just wanted to verify I had my information right! I ordered some Seachem root tabs and Seachem flourish, since I don’t need anything crazy seeing as I picked out easy to grow plants xD

You may need to tinker with the lighting to find the right balance to avoid algae as it's bright and you won't be dosing CO2. A reduced or siesta lighting period and/or reducing the intensity of the white LEDs may help.

Also, I suggest you dip and QT the plants before adding them to your tank to mitigate the risk of introducing unwanted snails, ich, planaria, bacteria, etc.

If you click the "dip" hyperlink in my last comment it'll bring you to a good article with options. I use alum but potassium permanganate seems to be a more popular choice.

Some folks QT plants for a month but I do a strong alum dip and then QT for 3 days. Longer is better, if course, but I think 3 days minimum is a fair compromise and should reduce the risk of transferring ich.

Thanks !! I have a question on the quarantining for ich, I read ich needs a fish host within 3 days of it will die out, since I’m getting these plants shipped to me can I count the shipment time towards the QT time? So if it takes 2 days to ship I just QT it 1 more day ?

I do 3 days after receipt, after I've cleaned dipped and cleaned them, but you can do as much QT as you'd like. There's no right or wrong answer. Nothing fancy is needed for QT - just plunk them in a bowl or bucket of dechlorinated water for a while.

What if there is a hitchhiker snail on the plant, don't they carry ich? I would say at least 3 days after you treat the plant.
