So my local PetValu (PetSmart but not as big) got some little freshwater clams, I think they’re cute so I’m interested. They’re labelled as “filter feeding clams”, which doesn’t narrow down what they could be and I don’t even bother asking the workers. They are about .75 inches across, dim yellow, and fairly round. Are they baby Asian gold clams? If not, what are they and are they easy and suitable for a 5 or 30 gallon?

Clams/mussels aren't best for begginers and contain specilised environments to do well. If you decide on one, research heavily beforehand!

I knew clams weren’t very suitable for beginners, but I thought that was just because when they die it destroys the water before you even realize it? And some species must be easier than others, right? I think they are fingernail clams, really cute but I guess I probably shouldn’t. Thanks!
