What just came out of my chopstick snail?

I added two chopstick snails to my 10 gallon planted tank yesterday. They seemed to be doing fine until I saw one of them covered in what looks like small grains of rice. There were all over its body and some were inside its shell. The snail has closed itself into its shell and has been like this since. Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are all at 0.

What are these things? Are they harmful and should I remove them from my tank?

Thanks, I think you might be right. Do snails tend to store their poop and deposit it all at once? Those things I saw came out all at once.
