What it's taken me 20 years to learn...

Just thought I'd post this for you guys. Feel free to post your own lessons.
~*~
What it’s taken me 20 years to learn:
- Be respectful, be polite: Rarely will you regret having held your tongue, but you’ll never forget the times you didn’t.
- Say thank-you: sometimes it’s the last thing that you’ll ever say to someone.
- Give everyone a smile and a hug: even when you can’t remember they’re name.
- I Love You is the most powerful phrase you’ll ever say, it can tie you down or set you free.
- Never say I Love You when you don’t mean it, it’s hard to take back.
- We all carry regrets: they keep you from making mistakes twice, just don’t let them keep you from trying again.
- Don’t go into an unequal relationship: Being the strong one is great, but you need them to be strong for you to.
- There’s no going back
- Pain fades, memories last forever, don’t taint them.
- Don’t be scared to say hi.
- Family isn’t comfortable but you don’t need it to be, that’s why you have friends.
- Mom was right
- So was Dad
- If you’re the only one allowed to call your brother that then don’t do it in front of people.
- Hold onto beauty
- The only thing that compassion has ever hurt is your bank account.
- The Balance of your bank account doesn’t even come close to the value of you.
- PMS is only an excuse once a month, after that it’s you.
- Putting off something painful won’t make it hurt less.
- If you don’t like what you see in the mirror you’re the only one who can change that.
- The K.I.S.S. principle should be the first thing that you look at when you have a problem.
- When you’re back is to the corner turning the other cheek doesn’t work anymore.
- If you believe it then hold onto it.
- If you don’t know why you’re doing something, then stop till you remember.
- Some dreams are easy, achieving others is like climbing up a sheer cliff by your finger-nails with the everyone hanging onto your feet pulling you down. Keep Climbing.
- Some days you just need to sit down with a coloring book.
- The best thing I learned in life was how to read.
- The second best thing I learned in life is how to ride
- The most painful lesson is getting back in the saddle after you’ve fallen.
- Letting something go and giving up doesn’t mean that you failed.
- Don’t rush.

This is my list. I wrote it, I didn’t quote it. By tomorrow it may be different, but it will still be mine. Too each their own dreams and wishes. Too each their own values and songs. Living is painful, loving can hurt, but that doesn’t make that day the last. Watch the sun set, than count the stars.

Everything you've written is extremely inspiring and very much true.

I'm going to print those out and put them on our refrigerator. I hope you don't mind, but I think they're pretty important to keep in mind.

Thank you!
