So I just walked into my room and looked at the tank and noticed my pearl gourami had something hanging from it. What is it!?! Should I be concerned! Here are pictures of my pearl with its unknown substance:
    Please help!!!

Looks like clear stringy poop. I'd watch and see if it happens again. Usually a sign of internal parasites.

Is there a cause of this? Because I just went back to check on the pearl and it was gone.

It will drop off just like any other poop. If it continues for a couple days, I would treat for internal parasites.

Should I wait a day or two before buying it?

It's white poop, right? If it is, your gourami has parasites. And you can treat it now, I don't see a reason to wait. And make sure you remove the carbon:)

There is a good video put out by The Inquisitive Fish Guy on treating with General Cure.

What do you mean remove the carbon? May be a stupid question but I don't understand.

I have flake food, do I still add medicine to it or do I need pellets?

The small black "rocks" in your filter cartridge (if that's what you use as filter media).

    Oh I don't lol

I feed flake too. I had to do this once. I went out and bought a small jar of pellets because I didn't know how I was going to soak and dry flakes. lol
    Fortunately they ate them.

    what is in your filter?

The filter cartridges? I believe so. They are large and white. They go with the aqueon filter .

When you rip open the filter cartridge, do you see the small black rocks?

They have charcoal in them. Open the clip at the top and dump the charcoal out. (Although you are treating internally with food which is the best way for internal parasites, but if you were treating the water column you would need to dump that charcoal.
