Hi,

I was recently given my first Saltwater tank (I've got several freshwater tanks, but have never kept saltwater before), it's got a clownfish, and some rocks, on sand. There's a purple tentacled creature in one of the rocks, and one on the back wall/filter section. Any idea what species this thing is? Hoping I can get some info so I know how to look after it (assuming it's a good thing!).

I don't think you want to nourish that. It looks like a hydra to me, and you want to get rid of it, but I may be wrong.

I second apista. And from the looks might be a hard to remove. You might have to pull the whole rock out. Scrap the apista off and try to make sure you get every part out or it will spread. Read up on how to get rid of apista. But let it be known if you make it mad it will spread like wild fire. I'm not sure what cuc you have. But from the looks you need a decent amount to help with that algea.

You can. It is safe for the tank. When peroxide breaks down it's just oxygen
