I see as small bean shaped and sized thing in my tank which is almost flesh colored. We just set it up and transferred my goldfish to it. What is this it wasn't here earlier...?

    Is it moving?
From a back view, it kind of looks like a snail shell.

I can't really get a good pic of it but it's kinda creeping me out ! It isn't moving. I've had my plant for about a month maybe two and haven't added anything so I'm just wondering what it is.

I'm going to take it out obviously but I'm in bed now and don't wanna get all wet and yucky reaching in.

Have a good night's sleep. Don't worry about it growing in there...watching...growing...

No worries, just try to remove it and examine it tomorrow.

Oh you're horrible. I'd be getting that thing out of the water so fast you'd think it had teleported. :)

It actually looks like spray insulation foam, the canned kind. Or gap filler. Any chance it could have fallen in from somewhere?

Is it possibly gold fish pellet food that absorbed water and expanded when it wasn't eaten?

So, it's a pebble I believe, it must have been from the previous owners of the tank but I rinsed it out so I have no idea how it got there. Very weird. I thought it was some kind of fleshy thing ! It did not grow overnight

It could have been in the sand, I have had this same thing happen to me.
