So I got some random plants a few weeks ago for my 75g and they're all flourishing except for this one. Didn't really care about it till now...

(Excuse the diatoms covering a good shot of the plant)

Hey cool, I was meaning to get some but if I already had it...
So are they root feeders or what? Also, do they have a rhizome? I noticed this plant only now because I saw a runner developing a few inches away.

This is a stem plant and I believe they are water column feeders

Do they send out runners? Because this looks like one of the roots came out a few inches down.

Yes, I believe in high light tanks they will send side shoots

Hmm, that's weird because my tank is supposedly a low-medium light tank. (high low, low medium)

They shoot runners, but in higher lighting they send side shoots if I'm not mistaken

Actually it looks like bacopa. I have some in my tank. I'll post a pic but if you google it you'll see. Repens is much more of a ground cover and bacopa is a stem plant that grows upright, taller. They do look a bit alike though. I finally got rid of my repens because it sent out so many shoots and they would come loose and get caught in my filter all the time. Drove me nuts! lol

Does it look like this? You get to see one tiny molly panda fry I'm keeping out of my 50. She's about an inch.
