I found a white spot on our fancy goldfish tail. It doesn’t look like ick but I could be wrong. Is it ick or fungus? He only has this one spot.

Looks like a cyst of some sort but I can’t be sure.

Ehhh, how old is the goldfish? and did this *white spot* appear while he was in your care? Has he always had it? Has it gotten bigger/worse?
It doesn't look bacterial or fungal, doesn't look to be *very bad* either.....but I'm unsure as well.
My comet goldfish have white spots on the tips of their fins but, I don't believe that's what we're seeing here.

It doesn’t seem to bother him. We’ve had him for about a week and never noticed this before.

One of my goldfish had that before, when I first got her. It eventually went away on its own. It didn’t appear to bother my fish at all eigther. Just keep the water clean.

The goldfish tank we have is a 36 gallon with two fancy goldfish. The perimeters are perfect and I change the water twice a week just in case because they have been known to be messy fish.
