Hello, I have a newly planted tank and noticed this thing moving like an inchworm on my glass. Perhaps 3/4” long. What is it? It seems to move skinny end first.

The shap of that at the moment suggests to me it may be a leech, is it stretching and then reducing in size to move

I dont think it'll give problems, a fish may eat it or siphon him out while you can see him, i don't think many leave them in their tanks

They can cling pretty well to smooth surfaces, so you may have to scrape him off with the siphon hose.

Ok good to know. Is this a pretty common pest that comes with new plants? If I’m not able to remove him (and there are no fish right now the tank is cycling) will there be an infestation or any other issues?

I honestly couldnt tell u for sure, but I would remove it to be safe. I'm pretty sure they need 2 to make more, and if u order outside grown plants theres a chance, but I've only ever had it come from pond collected plants, and that was once.
