What Is The Scariest Thing To Happen To You?

When I was 12, I watched my friend get hit by a car (he survived).
When I was 9, I lost a friend to cancer.
In high school, the teachers & students bullied me. I was all alone, rip me.

I guess I had a rough childhood, but not how most people would imagine. Though I found the good bits, studied hard and hey, I got into university!

Aw, that's nothing. Breaking things off, now that's when it can get really hard.

Dang, and I thought I had it rough. Nice job getting into unI though

I’ve thought about that and I’m scared I wouldn’t have the heart to do it.

probably the first time I watched the ring.

lol. I think the few times I was close to drowning was maybe the scariest. not super close to drowning, but just enough to get you panicking. once in hawaii, a couple times in pools, and another time in a river in yellowstone. probably some other times in the ocean too, getting pummelled by waves. getting into a car wreck was pretty scary too... being hit and spinning out of control, glass flying everywhere, is never much fun. oh gosh, and being chased by dogs when I was a little kid! terrifying. I was so afraid of dogs.

On holiday in Greece in my early teens and I went quite a way out to sea. We were in like a small cove sort of beach and I daren't guess how far I went out, I'm a pretty strong swimmer but bit off way more than I could chew. The current was basically pulling me on par with my efforts to swim to shore. There was one person further out than me and can always remember thinking if I see him coming back in he's going to have a passenger.

I managed to get back to shore but never ever went that far out for quite some time!

I used to have sleep paralysis symptoms which is actually extremely frightening especially when you also have vivid dreams/ nightmares. You slowly wake up while you cannot control your body muscles and you lay awake paralysed for up to 60 seconds. Often this was combined with seeing extremely frightening things in my room like other people or spiders or whatever but all you can do is lay there paralysed hoping waiting for it to be over.

Doing an unprepared presentation in front of 6 docters and over a hundred students in unI while having slept for no more than two hours because I was stupid to go for a night drinking is also definitely up there.

Some one broke into our house in the middle of the night , came upstairs, went into my older sisters bedroom, my mom heard the steps creeking, went to see who was coming up, confronted him, and he ran out of the house... Still was terrifying, took a long long time before us kids could sleep normally again.. it's very traumatic to wake up in the middle of the night to screaming!!!

Agreed.. having them say EVERY SINGLE DAY that they want to marry you, they love you, then waking up one day and coming home to "I want out of the relationship" no other reasoning. Now its the thought of going through that again that's scary. Although not near as scary as some of these other things

I’m getting my concealed carry for this reason. It’s just me & my dog and I’m only 5’. I don’t have much defense on my own lol

Maybe take some self-defense class, as well, like Krav Maga.

Ooh several things lol

When I was 18, I was in a school shooting at my college.. thought I was going to die and sent out a "last text" to my immediate family and very close friends because where I was stuck was with my back to a wall and I heard a lot of shouting outside. Didnt think I was going to make it that day.
21, I went to a php/iop treatment center. I had to face everything I had been running from for the previous 7 years.

That’s crazy. It used to be that shootings were an anomaly. Now it’s a regular occurrence.

Yeah... It was one of those towns that nothing every really happens in, but is mainly known for drugs and drug related crime... but even still it wasn't like the average person had anything to worry about. The town has gotten much rougher over the years. Thankfully it ended up being an isolated attack, but the guy wanted to make a statement so he did it the day after spring break and on campus. He was only after one guy, but of course we were all speculating online and with our friends who were in other buildings. Thankfully they found him and hes in prison now

I don’t particularly like them. I don’t like hunting, I don’t like them in the wrong hands, but I do appreciate cops, military, etc having them. And I will have a way if not multiple ways of protecting myself. To many I’m just a little 5’ defenseless girl. With all of the trafficking going around, I’m not willing to take any chances.
Maybe take some self-defense class, as well, like Krav Maga.
I will look into it! I’m in a super small town though so I’m not sure if there’s anything remotely close.

I never understand why people think guns are necessary. Guns are only necessary if everyone else has one too. Don't allow guns and you don't need to worry about facing one either?

I basically died - my lungs filled with fluid and I was without adequate oxygen for at least 30 minutes. They couldn’t find a pulse when they found me but got my heart started again and it took me 4 days before I could breathe on my own. The dying part wasn’t the scary part but right before they brought me back was scary. I’ve actually been through scarier traumas but dying was a unique experience and I created a video about it.

Yea.. we don't know if he had a gun or what he was doing!! It was terrifying.. but we all worked thru it with lots of prayer, sleeping all in the same bedroom and new deadbolts and heavy furniture against the door for the next couple nights!!: The police were great.. they had a car patrolling the neighborhood and a car sitting in our driveway for a few weeks!!

I plan on watching all of this at some point. But I just tried to and couldn’t make it halfway through without bawling. Lol it’s been a rough day. I can’t imagine going through something like that. As soon as I heard the first part of the song I started to cry. Wow just wow

10 years old watching titanic at night on a giant movie screen ( In our house, yes were fancy xD) With loud steros and bass. The cracking sounds and screaming scared me, jeez sounded like the real thing. Last year a tornado warning near our house, got stuff in basement. The two times I nearly passed out, everything went black but yet I knew where I was walking... And wakeing up to female bettas on one side of the tank...

Getting of a plane not speaking a word of chinese and into a car with a guy that doesn't speak a word of english. I was told it took 2hrs drive before I left aus it took 7hrs in the end and I had no idea what the heck was going on and no phone to call anyone to ask. To top it off old mate in the front was using his hands to tell me to go to sleep and there was no way in **** that was happening.
