What is it with angelfish laying eggs randomely

What is it with angelfish not understanding that they need a male in order for eggs to hatch. I have 2 females in my 75 gallon and they decided to lay eggs. Like dude what're you doing?? How do they not get that they don't have a male in there to fertilize the eggs?

It's probably better if they do so they don't become eggbound or something. I kind of think of it as the fish version of the menstrual cycle.

The thing is though it causes them unnecessary stress :/
