What Is Everyone's Tank?!?!

It's a Juwel Rio 240. It's 240 litres but I call it my 63 gallon as most people on here use gallons. I think it actually holds quite a bit more water than 240 litres.

Lol I'm sick of calling my juwel vision 450 "my 120"

I don't have a decent pictures of either of my tanks on hand, but I can post some as soon as I can take them
29 gallon:
8 harlequin rasboras
6 pearl danios
I will eventually add two more pearl danios, eight false juliI cories, a bolivian ram, a dwarf gourami and a few nerite snails

10 gallon:
Betta and a nerite snail
I might add a few ghost shrimp

I also have a 90 gallon wading pool that I am breeding red albino guppies in over the summer

Up to 12 tanks....
6 10s, all heavily planted with guppies and/or bettas and rcs. Two with gravel, rest eco complete. Mix of sponge and ACs, one high tech.
1) planted with wisteria, corkscrew val, Anubis coffeefolia, Java moss. Gravel.
2) star grass, alternanthera reineckiI "mini", hydrocotyle triparta "Japan", pogostemon helferi, parrots feather. Eco complete
3) staurogene repens, Java fern, various ludwigias, telanthera roseafolia, cambomba, ludwigia super red, water Sprite. Eco complete
4) hydrocotyle triparta "Japan" elocharis sp. mini, riccia, something else I'm forgetting. Eco complete
5) giant subwassertang rock, guppy grass, water Sprite, crypt wendtii, needle Java, fissidens. Chichlid mix Carib sea substrate
6) cutting from all other tanks. Gravel.
2 20 longs, one heavily planted one moderately, guppies, stiphodon goby, clown pleco, rcs, amanos, otos. One gravel, one eco complete. One minI canister, one sponge and ac 50. One heavily planted with overgrowth from other tanks multiple mosses (weeping, flame, Java, and fissidens), other has marsilea crenata, limnophilia hippodres, flame moss.
1 29 light/moderate planted (waiting for tissue cultures to grow in) 3 young angels, mts, and a few guppy juvies. Ecocomplete. Modified penguin filter (added rcs a number of times but the angels massacre them). Trident Java, parrots feather, crypt wendtii, blyxa japonica, and a bunch of tissue cultures, forget which now....
1 38 bowfront heavily planted bristlenose plecos, female guppies, rcs, amanos, too many pest snails...but with tank depth at 24 too frustrating to attempt to remove, so a handful of assassin snails as well. 2 sponge filters and a sunsun 304b, gravel. Plants- trident Java fern, hygrophilia polysperma, guppy grass, riccia, ambulia, jungle vals, Brazilian pennywort, crypt wendtii, parrots feather, rotala indica.
1 40b ecocomplete, sunsun 304b, ac70 heavily planted. male guppies, amanos, otos, rcs, longfin calico bristlenose pair. Plants... needle leaf Java fern, hygrophilia polysperma, purple cambomba, ambulia, alternanthera reineckii, Rubin swords, Vesuvius swords, bacopa monnierI and caroniana, aponogeton bolivianus, probably some others I'm forgetting.
1 75 gravel, light/moderate planted, 2 Goldie's, 6 rosy barbs, 3 longfin albino bristlenose, one rubberlip pleco. 2 sunsun304b, one ac 110. Plants in this one easy (Goldie's eat too many others). 3 Amazon swords, 7 crypt wendtii, ludwigia, Java ferns (reg and needle), val gigantea, anacharis.

Phew!!!! Sure I missed bunches of plants in each though!!!!

HI I'm Kenny

I've been in this forum almost a day so I'm still pretty new but with all these members I would like to know what tank setup does everyone have!! I want to know everything from fish and plants to the base (gravel and sand).
I have a 10 gallon with a breeding pair GBR, a dojo loach, Bn pleco and a African dwarf frog. (Note:We do plan to get a bigger tank when they grow up.)

View attachment 331003 View attachment 331004 Lots of great looking tanks. But whoa the MTS plus large tanks too..eek the maintenance, water, electricity...such dedication..
Wasnt displeased with my water bill but still for me, although I ignored it, I guess that keeping fish wasn't enough to counter my inherent waste saving ways.. Just sold one of my 3ft tanks after only 5mths. Can't say that I miss it lol.
Might as well give the gone tank a showing..Blurred of my daughter's fighter fish in the close up, whose now back into a 40 litre tub til I decide what's next..
Beautiful great lookin tank

The 2.5 is my healing tank, for Butch. She's from my sorority and has a lip injury that makes it hard to compete for food. A couple of assassin snails clean up any food missed by her clumsiness

The only tank I have running right now is my 10 gallon, which is also my first tank. It's only recently planted and aquascaped, and the only residents (3x Horned Nerites) were added just today! (It's also battling a very large brown algae bloom from when the cycling finished). Eventually my stocking plans will include some amano shrimp, a colony of RCS, and (hopefully) a few Indostomus Crocodilus which my good friend insisted I get.

Common pleco, bristlenose pleco, syndontis granulosos, elephant nose, parrot cichlid, mbuna cichlid, oscar, albino pangasius catfish, Bala shark, black shark, six-banded distichodus, silver dollar, musk turtle
Wow such a beautiful tank great job!

  • #103
Yeah its trial and error I think got lucky with some the fish not being aggressive as black shark and oscar all get along and don't bite at the turtle or annoy the elephant nose as the elephant nose is quite shy, the boss of the tank is actually the female parrot

I'm curious, does your 63 gallon tank happen to be an Oceanic 55 plus? The reason I ask is that I owned the Oceanic tank for over 15 years. It was 63 gallons. It was the same dimensions as a 55 gallon except being a few inches taller. I think it's a rare size since I don't hear anything about them and I think Oceanic went out of business. I just sold it in January because I decided to downsize to a 36 gallon bow front. I wanted something easier to maintain.
I have that exact tank, Oceanic 55 plus show. I bought it about 24 years ago. I think it's a beautiful tank, but you must be prepared to get your armpits wet!

Give it time. They will get aggressive.

I enjoyed this thread too, nice stocking of a small tank, you use it to its full potential and the fish all look really healthy. Especially the rasboras, plants also look super healthy.

I keep all my tanks in the mid eighties. I keep Assassin Snails in all my tanks. I use Black Sand in all my tanks. I use Laterite in my ten gallon. I flock breed all my tanks. I have Guppy Grass in my ten and twenty. The twenty has red Mangroves. I have had the Guppies six and a half years. I had the least Killifish for a year and a half. I use Pothos, Peace Lilies, Red Mangroves, Dumb Cane, Lucky Bamboo, and Chinese Evergreen. I am experimenting with Wandering Jew and Coleus. I use live plants in all my tanks. I do fifty percent water changes weekly.

My OCD would do my head in looking at the two cabinets not being perfectly in line in the last pic
Yes your right, it's a 55 and a 100, that's the only way I could fit two tanks in that space! The only other option was to get rid of one of the tanks and we all know how that turns out MTS wins again

I can relate to OCD ruining your fun with fish. I worry about my fish/Snails not breeding and end up studying the tank sometimes a few times a days I also compulsively set up back ups. I missed getting cool fish in the new tank, because I was so worried about losing the Guppies.

It is hard could you not move the 55 forward a little I'm assuming that was setup first so to move it when you hot the hundred would have meant a full strip down.

My biggest OCD is with lines which can be a problem when your a landscaper and paving the imperfections can really cause some issues.

In our main bathroom there is a tile on the corner of the bath that is not centred and I can't even use the toilet there because it's in my sight line and I gets so stressed about it

Hi. I'm very new. I have a 5 gallon fluval spec with 4 platys. I bought all girls. One just gave birth. So I've just bought a fluval chI 5 gallon to set up for the fry.

There's so much to read and learn and figure out. I want every fish and plant to flourish.

75g, 2 penguin biowheel 350b filters, and real Driftwood in the center.

4 blue acaras
4 Geophagus (if anyone can clarify the type I'd appreciate it)
2 koi angels
3 yoyo loaches
7 khulI loaches

The khulis hang with the acaras, the yoyos hang with the Geo's, the Geo's fight with each other sometimes, the acaras don't bother anyone, and the angels pretty much do whatever they want and everyone else just gets out of their way. Most will even give up chasing after food if they have to cross in front of the angels. I'm pretty happy with my fish selection. It's working out really well. I just hope 4 Geo's don't get too big, even for a 75g.
