What Is Everyone's Tank?!?!

I hope I don't get hate for the 36 gallon - I know it's very overstocked, but I do daily maintenance and today I finally got in contact with another LFS that wants a large quantity of snails on Friday. So as of Friday that tank will no longer be overstocked! I feel so much relief. Daily large water changes are a lot of work and a lot of worry for their health. I started with seven snails...so let that be a warning to anyone who thinks eggs are harmless! The breeder box in the bowfront tank is how I keep some floating plants in there without the apple snails devouring them.

Here are my tanks - I'll have to take a picture of the axolotl tank later, she's in the living room because with her cooler temperature requirements, I keep her away from windows and under fans to keep her at a healthy temperature.
Wow such a sight, beautiful great job.

I have a lot of tanks because I have MTS, I think you'll catch it too My favorite is a 360 gallon with about 150 African cichlids, 3 feather fin cats and a 12" common pleco. Here are some pictures of it, and some of my nicer tanks.

I got a moderately-heavily planted 75 gallon tank. I'll start off with equipment and stuff.

Tank - Top fin glass tank. Background painted black
Stand/canopy - both custom built. Painted black and white
Substrate - about 70lbs of regular black gravel
Filtration- 2x Fluval 406 canister filters
Lighting - Coralife T5HO light
Hardscape - driftwood and granite rocks

Now for the living stuff in the tank. Plant-wise I have:
Jungle vals
2-3 different anubias
Red tiger lotus
Crinum calamistratum
Hygrophila polysperma
Crypt wendtiI red
Bacopa caroliniana,
Pogostemon helferi
Staurogyne repens
Java fern
Frogbit
All plants get fertilized with either GLA dry ferts, DIY osmocote root tabs or the fish waste lol

The fish include:
1 male apistogramma cacatuoides triple red (getting 3-4 females)
13 neon tetra (getting 12 more)
5 harlequin rasbora (getting 15 more)
1 male platy
1 lemon blue eyed bristlenose pleco
1 oto (Rehoming)
A billion guppies (rehoming)
1 peppered cory cat (rehoming)
9-10 amano shrimp (getting 10 more)
1 nerite snail (getting 5 more)
20+ assassin snails
After I rehome some fish, I will be adding a group of 10 panda cory cats
Food: Lots of different dry flakes/pellets/wafers, frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms, plankton and mysis shrimp.

I think that's pretty much everything for my main tank lol. I've got 4 other smaller tanks. Sorry for the super long post

Here's a picture of my tank. Just did a big trimming on my plants so please excuse the emptiness on the right side of the tank

20 long. Planted with anubias nana, a micro sword and a dying java fern I'm taking out first thing in the morning. Planning on more javas and water wisteria in the future. Slightlyy overstocked, but everyone gets along and water conditions are fine, so I don't care.
7x glowlight tetras
7x Columbian tetras
2x male guppies
1x male platy
1x Bolivian ram
Hoping to add Amano shrimp.
I'm hoping to set up my old 5 gallon for a betta.

Lol the super hobbiests came out of no where didn't they? Folks with seemingly unlimited budgets and time to maintain 15 tanks lol...

I started with a 29 gallon. White skirt tetras and danios. I think I paid $4 for 3 of each. Something about nitrogen cycles, blah blah blah... Glofish and kuhlI loaches are cool, let's get some of those!

Well the bug bit me. I wanted to learn more. What goes with what? Do I need a bubbler? How big of a filter do I need? Is it possible to disrupt the cycle? What exactly is media?

Next thing I know, a year later, my little $1 fish are still going strong.

I just went on letgo (you know, the app that is about to make Craigslist look like Myspace compared to Facebook) and I found a 75g, stand, led light, 2 penguin 350s, among other accessories for under $150. My 29 has more than that into it easy.

I decided to make a South American tank. I have 4 blue acaras and 2 angels. I also put my khulI loaches in there and I feed them flakes in the morning, and blood worms in the evening. Who what when and why I have the fish I have and how/why I feed them the way I do is based on lots of research.

My tank is probably the most beginner friendly. My advice is to find a "centerpiece" fish, and build your tank mates around that. I chose the blue acaras as my center, but they get along with everyone. My angels will have to dictate my next fish. Such is life and raising cichlids I suppose.

HI I'm Kenny

I've been in this forum almost a day so I'm still pretty new but with all these members I would like to know what tank setup does everyone have!! I want to know everything from fish and plants to the base (gravel and sand).
I have a 10 gallon with a breeding pair GBR, a dojo loach, Bn pleco and a African dwarf frog. (Note:We do plan to get a bigger tank when they grow up.)

Hey Kenny welcome to Fishlore!!

Currently, I have a 20G Long with two comet goldfish and a blue mystery snail. Hopefully, by next week they'll be moved into a 120G.

How is keeping a dojo leach? I'm very interested in getting one someday.

Very neat and entertaining to watch they prefer sand instead of gravel but it still so cute how he digs in the gravel. 2 dojos would look good in your tank as if your tank didnt look good already!! You can still use gravel with dojo some people say they prefer sand but I use gravel and he's just fine.

To answer the original question. I have 3 tanks. A 125 community, with skirt tetras, Colombian tetras, angel fish, Bolivian rams, corydoras, Otto cats, SAEs, plecos , a snakeskin gourami.
I use high desert sand(white) for substrate. I have Italian vals, wisteria, Java ferns, corkscrew vals, and a couple of amazon swords. 2 pieces of driftwood.

The 29 gallon, has the same substrate , but only stocked with plants, and ghost shrimp (Italian val and wisteria ).

The 10 gallon is suppose to be a QT, but I'm currently breeding diamond tetras in there. Most people use marbles for a substrate in a breeder tank, but I use large round stones. They serve the same purpose ,but look more natural.

120g that has a lot of fish!
6 clown loaches (our babies lol)
German ram who thinks he is a loach
4 zebra loaches
Breeding pair of bristlenose plecos
6 panda Corey's
Red tail shark
3 groups of 8 tetras each - bloodfin, pristella and black phantom.

Currently have 2 406 fluval filters but will be getting an fx6 in near future. It's overstocked but we are very anal about water changes and our water tests are perfect. Very happy community tank, bristlenose currently has eggs on the side of the glass second batch in 2 weeks!

I have a 20 gallon with 2 bolivian rams. I was hoping male female but they were fairly young when I tried to figure out the genders. Turned out to be two males but they get along. One is clearly more dominant and gets aggressive at times, but they both eat well and swim wherever they'd like. Sometimes are together

I've got too many tanks to go through them all lol so I'll just talk about my main community tank.

63 gallons

I'm curious, does your 63 gallon tank happen to be an Oceanic 55 plus? The reason I ask is that I owned the Oceanic tank for over 15 years. It was 63 gallons. It was the same dimensions as a 55 gallon except being a few inches taller. I think it's a rare size since I don't hear anything about them and I think Oceanic went out of business. I just sold it in January because I decided to downsize to a 36 gallon bow front. I wanted something easier to maintain.

Very cool thread! Love seeing or hearing about all the tanks.

Won't go into to much detail I'm currently moving things around in preparation for starting a new 40b.

75 Gallon planted tank with pool filter sand platys, swordtails, Australian rainbow, dwarf neon rainbows (moving to 40b or 55),panda and peppered Corys.

55 gallon planted gravel guppy mansion I share with with wife and 9yr old daughter. Gloria fish, zebra danio's, platys, swordtails, mollys, and corys.
I get outvoted on stocking, just a disclaimer, nobody listens to me. Lol

40breeder (just starting)
This is an upgrade of my current 10 gallon planted tank (will become qt/hospital tank).
Gonna be planted with a pool filter sand substrate, future co2 tank. Have finnex 24/7 planted+ light on all tanks. Stocking will be n-class endlers, pygmy cory's, and mystery snails. May include neon dwarf rainbows.

Currently considering adding turquoise rainbows from lfs to 75.

10 gallon -

Flourite black sand, anubias lanceolata, staurogyne repens, frogbit, spiderwood, dragonstone and Finnex Stingray.

Getting a 20 gallon tank for my birthday, probably a large school of nano fish or something

It's a Juwel Rio 240. It's 240 litres but I call it my 63 gallon as most people on here use gallons. I think it actually holds quite a bit more water than 240 litres.
