What In The Heck Is This?

    Hey all! I noticed a couple of these and thought the silk plant was wearing down but nope! Defiantly algae, moss or something. Very very slow growing as there’s only been maybe 6 more within a few weeks, I picked one off and set it in my hand, it’s slimy, not remarkable.

    looks like staghorn algae maybe

    I thought so at first but putting in alcohol had no change to red (I left it overnight) and it doesn’t look like most of the reference pictures

    I agree it does look like staghorn or string algae. Have you added anything recently or moved something in from one tank to another? Do you have java moss in any of your tanks?

    no to all of those things! :( Nothing has changed in a few months and all of those look a lot more “Flowy” if that makes sense

    I would just remove the decorations affected by it clean em up under some hot hot water ( no soap ) and put them back in to see if it comes back.
