What Happened To My Betta’s Tail?

HI everyone! It’s been awhile So I’ve had my betta for a little over a month now. When I first got him, his tail was perfectly round. After a little time, I noticed a rip in his tail, which I assumed was from decor I had, so I removed it. It started to get better and heal and now it looks like this! It doesn’t look like fin rot, and the ends seem to have curled. What is this from? There are silk plants, almond leaves, and a moss ball in his tank, so I know it’s not from rough decor. Maybe tail biting?

This curling is usually the after fact of the healing. Because there fins are so long and actually genetically made to be like that sometimes they don't grow back properly.

What are your parameters meters like?
I just want to make sure this is healing because sometimes it can be from bad water but we will see.

Here’s a couple photos of my parameters! My pH is low because I have almond leaves!

fins don't always grow back the same so keep that in mind. My halfmoon betta shredded his fins and now looks like a delta betta....

Your ph is low but I'm not sure if that matters for bettas. Did you put three drops of the low ph in the bike and give drops of the high, then just mixed it a bit? CanadianFishFan what do you think? I think his fins are just healing weird as you said because all parameters are good. but I'm wondering if the ph being so low that's it bad?

I have a 2.5 gallon for my rescue betta and put 2 huge Indian almond leafs in it. Ive noticed no change in his fins or anything else bad. I'm still figuring out all this fish chemistry anyway.

OK I didn't think it would matter just wanted to be sure because I use almond leaves too but my kh and gh are high to keep my ph up because I have a snail with my betta
