5 Gallon Tank What hang on the back filter would you reccommend?

Hello!

I have a 5.5 gallon tank that I am eventually going to turn into a quarantine tank to feed my 29 gallon.

The 5.5 tank is established and has been running for years, but the current filter is pretty bad. I'd like to get a very quiet hang on the back filter with mechanical filtration. I don't want to use a sponge filter.

I was going to buy the Finnex HOB nano but it seems to be out of stock everywhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a new filter?

Thank you!

Thanks! Is it quiet?
For the most part yes, if it’s loud you just have to add more water to your tank since it’s only loud with a low water level

I just have the Top fin HOB that came with the tank. It is really quiet and does a good job for a 5g tank. I dont use the cartridges though. I have a super seeded sponge filter sponge in there and a little floss.

Check out the Marina slim series. I got a 10g Cory tank with the S20 on it and liked the adjustable flow and prefilter setup. Figured it was expensive, looked it up and no, quite cheap. Bought the S10 for my mangrove tank then just got another S10 for our 5g Betta tank today. It’s quiet, once you get the lid seated lol It’ll buzz a bit if not fully seated. The air pump is a lot louder. The Cory tank prefilter needs fairly frequent cleaning, but the mangrove/Endlers tend to be pretty clean with the hermit crabs / snails / mussels etc… Can’t imagine the betta will need much. Was actually hopping on to post up how surprised the difference in water clarity between it and the sponge filter I replaced a few hours ago.
