I had raise red wiggler twice before(one time giving up because I move from Kentucky to Maryland, second I were shocked how I have thousands and thousands from 10 worms), end up can not handle the heavy reproduction and let them out in the backyard, and do believe it can’t survive winter In Maryland. I didn’t realized that
Eisenia fetida will not bury themselves.
Thinking about having them again because we always have organic waste.

I want to have some fresh water fish or creaturethat will not aggressive but can help me eating earth worm, any choices?

I have three other smaller tanks, too. If they ever need nursery.
Anyone have Eisenia fetida, how you handle fast reproduction? I end up have to let go twice since they multiple too quickly.
If not this time, I will be let them out only some and try to handle the less. Last two time in over ten years. I end up put out in backyard since I didn’t keep checking how big colony went. I will be more responsible this time.
Thank you.

You can maybe look into tiger barbs depending on your tank size they are pretty aggressive eaters... I’ve never fed mine earth worms so more research would be recommended

I do not know what fish to recommend, but I do know that when I tried feeding red wigglers to my fish they would spit them out.

I believe Eisenia Fetida are the type of worm sold locally under the name red wigglers. I feed my fish other species of earthworms that live in the dirt around my house and they love them, but they just don't like the red wigglers at all. I would recommend you try feeding the worms you have (or will have) to your fish as the worms may be a different species. Other types of fish may like eating Eisenia Fetida worms, I have only had two species of fish to test the worms out on, minnow and green sunfish (green sunfish are very aggressive so definitly don't get them).

I assume it must be the foul smell (and probably taste) that those particular worms give off.

However those worms work great as a fishing bait, because fish readily grab the worms to eat them, and by the time they decide to spit them out a fisherman would have already hooked the fish anyway. So you may be able to sell them to fisherman if your own fish will not eat them.

Oh I never think about it. Thank you. (That it might be smelling)
But I think they are kinda small, I am not sure some fisher man will like it.

Maybe they are a different kind of worm sold around my area, they usually are between 1 1/2 inches and 3 inches in size when people use them for fishing in my area of New York State. Some people do like to fish with what they call night crawlers, those worms are huge! 6 inches at least!
It's probably worth trying to feed the kind you have to fish and see what they think of them.
Hope someone has some good suggestions of fish for you.
