I found this fish in a canal and it looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Can anyone tell me what it is?

That is so cool that you found a killifish in a canal. Is it an annual?

Update- i read it is not seasonal but lifespan likely 2 years or less. Cool find!

Bluefins can live a lot longer than two years if kept properly. In a tropical tank, yeah, you'd be lucky to get two years. Keep them cooler, as they like deeper streams and creeks.

Probably going to insist on live food since it was wild caught, but might be trainable to frozen bbs.
