What fish can go in my ten gal tank? Question

Hi! I have had 6 Neon Tetras in a ten gallon tank for about a week, and I am thinking about putting in another fish or two this week, so I was wondering what kinds of fish would not bother my Tetras and be ok with a 10 gallon filtered tank which is normally about 78 F

I wouldn't add anything honestly...they are pretty active fish so I probably wouldn't even put neons in a 10.

You could maybe add some small shrimp or a nerite snail (doesn't breed in fresh water)

I agree your tank is about fully stocked. 10 gallons are very limited in what you can add. I also agree that maybe some inverts like shrimp or snails could be added. RCS would do ok, provided they have some hiding spots and plants. Ghost shrimp may be an easier addition as they are cheap and easy to find.

Guppies, but only get all male or females because they reproduce fast!

Please do not put any guppies in this tank with the six neons.

    1. This tank is full except for perhaps space for a Nerite snail if it gets enough algae.
    2. Neons need softer, acidic water and guppies need hard water.

How long has this tank been set up and what are its water parameters? I have had such a tough time keeping neons alive that I try not to change anything in my tetra Tank, so as not over stress the few I have left :p
