I was wondering what to use instead of the carbon media that comes with the Aquaclear70 filter? What do you personally use in your filter? What media do you recommend?

    Thank you!

Maybe you can use some Seachem Matrix in there?

I've used filter floss, different sponge media and other extra ceramic media. I've been wanting to try out matrix but have yet to do so.

    Thank you for your replies!

I will be trying Seachem Matrix as that seems to be a popular vote. By any chance has anyone used Seachem Purigen in their filters?

I dont like to use lava rocks because they can clog fairly easy, all my filters are sponge , filter floss then filled the rest up with seachem matrix, imo one of the best media's out there.
