What Does This Behavior Mean?

My two Convict Cichlids have been doing something odd lately. They face each other very closely almost like they are kissing and the male will puff out his gills like he's trying to look bigger.

Then they will circle each other so that their face is right by the others tail fin. The female will then rapidly fan the male's face. They keep repeating this.

I've never had Convict Cichlids before so I don't know if this behavior is normal or not. They only seem to do it right beside a big bushy plant that they both like to hide inside. Is this a territorial thing? I know that convicts are big breeders so is this a pre-breeding routine? they don't show any aggression towards each other... in fact, they play with each other all night long (They are the only two in the tank).

I'd love to hear what you guys think!

Sounds like a breeding thing if they're not hurting each other!

Do you have a plan for the fry?
