What does my java fern need?

My java ferns' health seems to be on the decline, not producing baby ferns anymore and I am not seeing any new leaves sprouting from the rhizome, and I have occasionally had leaves yellow away and die. All other plants are doing good, water column feeding and root feeders. I dose weekly with easy green liquid fert and every few months with root tabs for the root feeders. Can anyone tell if these ferns are lacking a specific nutrient that I can start dosing? Thanks.

The rhizomes are wedged between some wood a few inches above the substrate and I am unable to tell if the roots have made their way all the way down yet, I am going to assume no.

 

Your java ferns seem to be doing ok to me.

I don't find producing baby plants to always be a sign of good health in java ferns. For example, my ferns only produce baby plants on the leaves that are dying. Growing slower doesn't always mean they're unhealthy either. There can be lots of different reasons for this including lower light or carbon availability. So, it may be your java ferns are just fine.
