What do you think you are getting for Christmas

What gifts do you think your family and friends are getting for you? What do you want? What are you getting for them? etc. It doesn't have to be fish-related, but I do want to here the fish-related things you want for Christmas.

Is anyone receiving/giving any gag-type gifts? I got my sister a mug with the Morton salt lady on it saying, "Don't Be A Salty [inappropriate word]" because she's cool like that.
I also got my mom a mug that says, "Boss Lady - Focused and Fabulous" on it, because of course.

They get gag gifts because they didn't tell me anything specific they wanted, so they're going to suffer the consequences.

Hopefully another tank or a gift card to the fish store.

Come on didn’t Cuomo and Deblasio get you a Camera for COVID? I got a Nokia 7500! Luv those guys
If only! I did get to be funemployed for a couple months while my biggest contract figured out their covid finances, but then I went back to work (honestly I'm a lucky duck. not everyone at the org made the cut).

I think Cuomo and Deblasio only have coal for my stocking

Hoping for a nice big bag of fluval stratum for my upcoming build, and money towards plants.

Other than fish supplies I'm asking for a new rug for my room, comfy hoodies + sweatpants, and some skincare items

I got a new fridge. My husband got the same thing. Coincidence? I think not. haha
It's better than living out of coolers, which we had to do for a week or so.

Honestly, at this point I want people to take stuff out of my house not bring more stuff in.

Since I got stuff for my horse this year using most of my money and my parents told me I would have no Christmas lol I don’t think anything to fancy but I really want money or a betta tank lol. I would love to get more horse treats tho since both me and my horse love to eat them xD

I'm guessing nothing + something an old person thinks I want.

We might get Nibbles something exotic to eat, I wonder if he can eat a whole lobster?

Pretty sure I’m getting money, and SW tank supplies. Mostly saltwater supplies, but that money will be a nice way to fund my fish obsession hobby !

Would like lots of money to put into stocks. I've been buying up lots of stuff that tanked in the COVID recession and making a nice little nest egg for a college student. Money would go a long way to fund buying citric acid for my DIY CO2 system that can't be used since I can't produce the CO2 yet. Would be nice of Santa to act as a fish medicine drug mule for Christmas too. Jesus would approve of drug running if it was to save my fish right?

As for what I'm getting people? My love and attention to my GF as our relationship has been recovering from years of trauma and therapy. Gratitude for my parents bankrolling my butt through college and the tough times we've had as family. Letters of why I respect my friends for being a second family to me. I'm lucky everyone around me understands gifts of monetary value are not easy to come by and would rather see each other happy. One day i'll either pay it back 10 fold or pay it forward.

My kids usually get me a gift card to a LFS and a couple of bottles of Scotch.
My grandsons always get me a nice gift that they get at there school or the store.
My Wife,??? She surprises me every year.
My gift to them is easy and they all know what it is every year as I have been doing it for 14 years now. I take them on Vacation for a week. Sometimes a cruise, an Island or just somewhere in the good old USA.
This year we are going to Cape Cod, in Massachusetts.

I want my dads Xbox one s. I’m pretty sure I’m getting it because he just got the series X and my brothers are getting the series S for Christmas. I also want to get a new filter for my 5 gallon tank because my wonderful gsd chewed it and ruined it. I have killer frogs in my 20 gal so I want to get the 5 set up so that they can go in there by themselves and not kill my guppies like they did recently. I also want a few live plants for my 20 gal. I’m a beginner so nothing too hard. I have 2 Marimo moss balls and a lucky bamboo. I also want jeans and leggings because I love leggings and I only have like 3 pairs of jeans lol.

After the last seven years of using a diaper bag rather than a purse, my wife requested a new purse for Christmas.

I went onto the local community free site and have acquired the UGLIEST, most leopard-spotted clutch known to man. And inside of that will be a nice gift card to her favourite store so she can go pick something out for herself.

This will either be amazing or terrible. If you don't hear back from me after Christmas, you'll know why...

To be perfectly honest I can't think of a single thing I want or need. Hubby and I no longer exchange gifts. If we want something we just get it no matter the time of year. I guess after 71 Christmas's the magic is no longer there.

I don't really remember my first 2 or 3. Mom and Dad made the next 15 or 16 into fun times. During the next 30 odd years I was Santa and made Christmas fun for all on top of feeding everyone (friends and family) well. Now I am tired and do as little as possible. I will cook a special meal Christmas day as always but it will just be for my hubby and me. Sadly this year even friends probably won't be stopping by.

In my humble opinion Christmas is for the young. Those that can still experience the magic of the season. It is for those that can wake up Christmas morning and find that Santa has visited their home during the night. Those that don't question how he manages to do so much all in one night. They still believe in the magic. Gifts are still great but the magic is gone once we learn who Santa really is.

Getting an early Christmas present today. A bacon cheeseburger and onion rings from a small town steakhouse. They are both rather exquisite!

This year I get to experience my toddler waking up on Christmas morning with her stocking full, presents under the tree, a half eaten carrot and mince pie crumbs for the first time

Congrats, there's nothing better. Take lots of photos of the special day only because time flies so fast.
I had 4, but know I have 4 grandsons to keep that special day going.

My mom was going to take me to get the galaxy a51 today but the Verizon store was closed, we are going to go to a different one tomorrow and if that doesn't work we scheduled a time where they let us in on Sunday

I am also getting a shingeki no koijin hoodie from my grandmother but that won't arrive until mid January to the beginning of February

Ooooooo, I found a new thing I want! PLECO JERKY!

El Diablito Jerky Bar Sampler (Two Bars)

(Maybe this should have gone in the "unpopular opinions" thread, instead?)
Wait is this literally made from a bunch of plecos from some river they were breeding like guppies in!? lol that's hilarious! I love how it's called "diablito" basically implying plecos are fish from ****

They're made from feral plecos from Mexican waterways! As an introduced species, they wreak havoc on the local ecosystem.

Yeah

Yeah I can imagine it as a big problem if the plecos literally eat everything they get their suckers on.

You know... I might be willing to try! Personally, I think pleco would be better broiled in the oven with lots and lots of spices. Maybe you could get the strong flavor to go away if you put it in a marinade over night.

Probably have to throw it in there for days imo. Broiled fish sounds good. I feel like I always dry it out doing that though; maybe I'm just cooking wrong.

For Christmas, I just wish I could travel somewhere (obviously impossible with the circumstances right now) with my family, or at least just do something out of the ordinary. We usually at least travel somewhere in state every Christmas (kinda a tradition), but this year when I got into winter break, it didn't feel any different. I just have about 6 extra hours every day that I could do pretty much nothing for (I'm not an adult). It's amazing how many things you take for granted, and the sad thing is, you only know what you take for granted when you don't have it anymore.

Nice sweater, hope it arrives unexpectedly early for you! And good luck with getting a phone. Try to be on a plan that won't just steal your money... data is overrated imo
got the phone yesterday, it took a while to log into this account because I forgot my password, but it's fine now

Great! And I hope you like it. My mom has the A50 and I really like the weight and feel of the phone. And since the A51 has better all around features I think you'll enjoy having it It has an Exynos core that is comparable to my Note9's (int. version) and still offers good performance vs the SnapDragons the NA flagship phones get.
