Stocking numbers are good, just monitor the ammonia! Rule of thumb is 1 gallon per inch of fish, but its really just the question of can your tank support the ammonia levels?

Sounds good right where you are at really. What kind of filtration are you running?

That's why it's really about the ammonia levels! I know that it is flawed, I used to rely on it and it cost me when I first started

Inch per gallon has not been the rule of thumb for decades, it’s extremely inncurate. Inch per gal says I can keep a 10 inch Oscar in a 10 gallon. Also there should be no ammonia ever in an established aquarium.

I'd say you definitely aren't understocked, so I wouldn't add any livestock, but more plants is pretty much always a good thing.
