What Do You Feed Your Nerites?

I have three nerites in a 15 gallon that was overrun with algae. Well, now there isn't so much algae. I am wondering what other people feed their nerites. I have heard whisperings of snail jell-o but don't know much about it. I am guessing organic leafy greens would be good for them as well.

What do you feed your nerites? Do you make your own food, or buy pre-made stuff? How often do you feed them?

 

My tank is pretty much algae free at this point also. None on my glass at all.
I drop in a couple algae waffers a day. This feeds 4 otos, and a bunch of MTS and a couple of nerites. This is in a 45g heavily planted tank.

 

my tank recently ran out of algae too. i've tried zucchini, cucumber, and norI (seaweed) so far. they seemed to like it. unfortunately my betta was also munching on the seaweed and cucumber, spitting it out, and making a mess :/ lol

 

My Nerite snail's are the only snail's I own that seem content just eating the algae growth and biofilm off of the glass and gravel and decor. I keep from 1 to 3 Nerite snail's in each of my tanks and they rarely if ever can be seen grazing on actual fish food. On the rare occasion that I do see them eating it's usually leftover algae or veggie wafers that I drop in for my other snails, algae eater's and bottom feeders. I feed them HikarI Algae Wafers and Omega One Veggie Rounds.

This Nerite and MTS is feeding on a leftover Veggie Round that I dropped in last night.

 

Thanks for the responses! I have algae wafers so I will try those. I’ll also see if they will munch on some veggies.

It’s a 15 gallon tank with three nerites and a betta. I’ll have to make sure I keep an eye on the food and don’t let it sit for too long.

 

I always fed mine a small piece of spirulina wafer, and a blanched veggie occasionally.
