What do you feed your neons?

What kinds of food do your neons prefer? I recently bought some but they don't seem to eat much. They ignore the frozen and gel food cubes. I noticed them chasing tiny particles that the other fish stir up eating them so i crushed some bug bites flakes for them and they chased them but spat them out, same for the nls micro pellets, regular and crushed. Maybe I should get them a small live food like daphnia?

Ahh ok, I tried worms but they weren't able to get them into their mouths so ill chop some of the cube up real tiny next time. Trying to keep them nice and strong but they spit everything out, they're very small.

I don't own neon tetras personally, but most flakes foods would be fine for them. I recommend Omega One Freshwater Flakes. I have it and I like the ingredients and it is fishmeal free.
I wouldn't recommend TetraMin Tropical Flakes. They contain fishmeal and it seems to be a pretty common fish food.

Yea, I avoid anything with fishmeal corn, wheat and bht whenever possible. I use omega one turtle food and love it. For my other fish I ended up starting with feeding fluval spiralina flakes for the more vegetarian fish and new life spectrum probiotic micro pellets because they had good ingredients to mostly feeding frozen variety cubes and repashy gel food. They get tons of variety.

I love fluval. Maybe mine just need to settle a bit more, I'll keep giving them a bit of everything and see what sticks. Thank you!

I just discovered frozen daphnia from hikari for my ember tetras and they go nuts for them! Use a knife to cut off a corner, thaw in some aquarium water, then use a pipette to gently squeeze into the aquarium they are tiny (like the tip of a needle tiny) and they loooove them. As well as frozen baby brine shrimp!

Ooo thats a great idea! Mine Finally started eating well. I think they were very stressed from the store. I've been chopping my brine shrimp and worms really small for them and giving them crushes flakes too, I'll def try to find them some of that.

I press a pinch of flakes onto the front glass and all 20 Neons/Cardinals come out to peck them.

I also just got some tablets which stick on the glass.

I don't find mine difficult to feed as they will eat anything offered and I offer a wide variety.

There are micro-pellets for tiny ones available. Hikari do one I think.
