What do you call snail movement?

Believe it or not this is actually a serious question. I have two Nerite snails and when I discuss them, mostly to the kids, I never know what to call their movements. It's not really walking because as far as I can tell they don't have legs. Sliding and crawling never seemed to work either. What do you think the snails movement should be called?

Moving? Gliding? Personally I call it climbing mostly. I have lots of things to climb in my tank.

Snailing, at least that's what we call it here. And then parasnailing for when the mysteries go up and float down.

@ That's true, my snails do have lots of places to climb as well, so climbing does work for certain situations.

@Bithimala I have yet to see our snails parasnail. My oldest sometimes saids they are sliming because she has played with slugs who remind her of snails.

I've never seen my nerites do it, only the mysteries And yes, I think sliming works too.

Ah I need to get mysteries someday, I'm hoping to do them in my 40 gallon breeder so hopefully I'll see it then.

I usually say they're crawling around my tank, even though they don't have arms or legs. My largest one likes to parasnail over his food before he eats it.
