What did you want to be when you were a kid?

I was wondering what everybody wanted to be when they were little (and if you are still really young, then what you want to become).

For me? Veterinary surgeon, definitely. Am still kind of toying with the idea. Turns out am a logistics IT optimisation consultant. Mmmmh, something went wrong somewhere.

I wanted to become a Pilot when I was a kid.....now I want to start my own business.....I like restaurant & Hotel business. do u think i'm too young for that (23). somebody keeps telling me.......

 

One of my friend started his software business when he was 23, and it's working fine 10 years down the line.

I don't know. You're obviously quite smart from the answers you post and stuff. And you're making rational arguments like someone who's keen on evidence/experiment rather than empty statements. I don't know. If I had to bet, that's what I'd bet. Let me know in 10 years if I was right!

A Pilot for the Airforce
A US Coast Guard HelI Pilot
Any other type of Pilot (I LOOOOOVVVVEEE flying!)
Or a Marine Bioligist

 

Wow, coooool choices! You could be a flying marine biologist. If you got your private pilot licence, you'd be really precious for the missions requiring goign to remote islands and stuff. (thinking ahead here).

I went for my first ever plane ride a couple weeks ago but....I've wanted to be a pilot and I loved planes before I even touched one! I didn't even know if I was afraid of heights.

I guess I've allways had a thing for flying... Ever since I was like, 3, I wanted to be a pilot or an astronaut (every kid wants to be that) but I wasn't kidding. lol

I'd looooooooooove to be a pilot and just love flying!! the last time I was in an air plene was when I was like 10. But in reality I think maybe businesswoman...

lol, your lucky, I'm 13 and just went in a plane last week. And I might not be in one again until a long time later...my mom won't let me in my Dad's cousin's plane, because she thinks it will fall out of the sky, lol. I keep telling her that Cessnas and Piper cubs are safer than freakin 747's lol.

I wanted to be a doctor but now i'm an adminitrative assistant aiming to own my restaurant business.

My dad's total all-consuming passion is airplanes. He used to be the director of this flying school as a hobby! Since he graduated from university, all his jobs have been to do with planes. He's got his private licence. Now he represents the Belgian air traffic control agency (or something).

When we were little, going on holidays would take ages because we had to stop at every little airport because he didn't yet have a picture of this or that plane yet! It goes on to this day. He'll take holidays to fly to some faraway country just because he's heard a rare plane is stationed there. Crazy man. He has ridiculous amounts of plane pictures. Oh, and all the airshows we were dragged to. It was fun, because he knew everyone and we felt really special going on the other side of the fence and stuff!

All this to say: he's definitely never regretted his career in airplanes. He's happy as a fish in water!

 

Lucky him! Wish I could at least see 'em close up!!

That's how he started. I lived closer to the national airport when he was little, and he was always there. This guy took a shine on him and kind of followed him through his studies and stuff, letting him watch the planes in the restricted zones and all that. When my dad graduated, he offered him a job and that's where my dad met my mom (she was his secretary). I have to say, she's a lot less into planes, but she still likes them a lot.

 

Gee, aren't you into planes if both your parents are?!

I've had planes coming out of my ears. Aversion therapy worked wonders for me!

lol.. internet troubles here.. we were offline a bit yesterday but the site was down then too.. and yes, I'll say it - "I hope they were small planes or that would hurt!".

I've had bigger things than planes coming out of my ears actually but that's another story. Ooooh alright, then, I'll tell it. I have this thing about cleaning my ears. I think I was a dog in a previous life or something because I looooove to clean the inside of my ears with cotton buds. Anyway, looks like I overdid it because my doctor told me I had pushed this huge (wax) plug inside my ear from cleaning them too often, and he had to remove it using this really strong - karsher-like - water spray. That huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thing came out in the doctor's little collection bucket. Aaaaah, it was fa-bu-lous! It was like the size of a house, and a big one at that. Ever since them, I dream that it'll happen again but it hasn't.

Here's me sincerely hoping am not the only one here who actually enjoys cleaning her ears, or I'll come out really weird!

Yea I do, One is a MIG-15, And the one with 3 planes is an A-10a/ F-16/ and a P-51. The top one is a stunt plane that was there.

Yea I love being around kids and when I went on work experience to my primary school I never wanted to leave! lol. I'm not sure what A levels, but I think it has to contain at least 2 of the main subjects. My choice is Maths, Welsh, Spanish and one other thing. Not quite sure yet, either Sociology or English Literature.

I loooove secret languages. I'd love to learn some obscure asian dialect that only a handful of people speak, or an ancient language like sanskrit or something. Pleeeease pick Lit! Am a huuuuge sociology snob (it's far too interesting for anyone to get any academic credit for studying it!).

I don;t know much 'bout welsh, but learning a sceret language that souds neat.. when I was in jr high I loved to write egyption hyergl.... I don't know how to spell it!! but I hope you get my meaning.
