Guys. I just went to the fish store for ONE thing. 69$ later, I left with everything for a new tank build and a gorgeous new female betta. If you don't hear from me send a search party

Any suggestions on what to tell my hubby...?

I was thinking, oh my females were fighting (they aren't :rolleyes and needed a new tank mate...and new tank...

Here she is...she is very pearlescent, and the red color is like more of a burnished peach. She is so friendly!

Also, my haul. The rocks, the substrate, a much needed 2.5 gal quarantine tank, and the plants are:
1 bunch red cherry
2 chain swords
1 bunch moneywort
1 c. Val
1 baby tear bunch
1 bunch wisteria

I have pennywort on order as well. I also have some baby java ferns and some small pink telanthera to add as well as some java moss.

ValerieAdams She definitely is different looking!! She came right up to me and started begging for food. That was it, I told the fish lady, "Bag her up!" LOL

So as a fellow suffer of Multiple Tank Syndrom I feel your pain. I tell my mermaid that in order to properly distribute the bioload and ensure adequate natural setting I have to increase tanks.

She looks at me an says "you walked in on a sale didnt you?"

Yes ma'am

Okay. You win. My new excuse!!! And yes, the MTS struggle is real. I think I am currently tapped out at 3 tanks though. I might be able to do ONE more. But that's the mts speaking...

I agree!! My local fish store here is AMAZING!! The grandma and grandpa started the company in 1969 out of their garage and it grew from there. They breed all their angels and bristlenose in store and each tank is separately filtered with lots of live plants and hiding places. They seem to offer the best prices in town despite having a Petco, petsmart, and another local fish/pet store. They definitely stay in business!!

The struggle is real! I suffer from MTS too. Same **** my dad. “Hey look, fish tanks are on sale. Shame if we just let ‘em sit there the whole time...”

Hey at least you share the understanding with somebody! My brother is going that way. He started with a 20 gallon and now he has added a betta in a new tank. He got a new job at Petco and so I feel like it is downhill for him from there

Hi! I love your new girl! You have SafeStart, right?
Thank you, and yes, why do you ask?

Heh well,

3 125s that are all african rift cichlid tanks.
1 125 for Todd my Tiger Oscar pup, a 350 for my Jaguar, a 500 for my redbelly pacus, 2 55s for my sons convicts, 1 65 for my daughters texas cichlids, 3 125s for my Jack Dempseys Green terrors and Firemouths. And I have a stack of 40 breeders that are not in operation cause Jen the fish girl twisted my arm during dollar per gallon and said she was holding on to them for me cause I help educate her employees.

The south americans are in the front room fish room the 350 and 500 are in the family room the africans are in the random room that my ex wife didnt know what to do with so....fish room. My son and oldest daughter have their tanks in their rooms. All have sumps. My youngest daughter wants a Tiger Oscar cause they are "so cool daddy!"

This is how I ended up with a 20 gallon long hidden in the laundry room under a curtain. I still haven't set it up. >_> And I can't tell you all the times I've gone into my lfs "just for some Indian Almond Leaves"... ... yah. At least I have a 20% discount there :/

Sorry if you already talked about this, but it's for a instant cycle

RainBetta I normally use stability in new tanks and sometimes I add it after cleaning my filter. It always seems to cycle within about 48 hrs. But with this tank I have an already established filter and will be adding some substrate from the previous tank so it should cycle. Also, I usually don't do fish in cycles.

So, after writing all that I realized yesterday I went with some fluval shrimp conditioner instead of the tetra. I actually think my tetra product is a water conditioner only, I'll have to double check the name on it!!
