What Color Background?

I just set back up my 37g. It's going to house a pair of Firemouths. I'm trying to decide on a background for the tank. I want one that will make the fish pop. I have black, light blue, dark blue, red, white, or purple to choose between. Which do you think would look best?

It’s always your preference but I base it on the fish if you want them to pop pick the opposite to them I think with firemouths you would be best with a lighter colour.

Their so vibrant, and since they have multiple colors going on, I think darker colors would look best (my Logic is kinda weird xD).

 

Though I've mainly seen light blue background I picked that one as a favorite. Though would love to see all the colors as a background eventually.

 

Green. Others (except brown) don’t look natural. Imo.

 

Opaque white and a backlight. I use a little 3W LED tube light to backlight my 120g. Really makes colors pop!


Brown doesn't look natural? I like my 5.5g since I took off the black background with a half brown wall behind it
