What Are These Shrimp? (new Evidence)

    Hi all,

I asked previously what these shrimp are and it was a bit inconclusive. I have more evidence about these shrimp.

These two are berried. The eggs look tiny, about half the size of what I have seen in my red cherry shrimp. I am wondering if this is because they aren't shrimplet eggs but shrimp larvae eggs. I did see one little thing on the tank wall jumping about that might have been a shrimp larvae. But haven't seen anything since - guessing because they die fast or don't even hatch unless it is brackish.

    Any other ideas?

I put in crystal red shrimp with them so hoping they don't try to breed!

I am wondering now if these actually are amano shrimp as the LFS said. They only went by their stockists listing though I think.

    (Of course with different colouring!)

This is my amano. Does it look like this?

They can get berried, but the eggs tend not to hatch unless they're in brackish water. image.jpg

I have 4 large amanos which look like that in my main tank. These ones are all sort of orange to dark brown.

Seems a few other people believe these are also amano shrimp:

Cool! So for the record, Amano shrimp can be anywhere from clear through orange to dark brown?
