What Are My Options For Dedicated Snail Tank

I have several pea puffers, which I got because I had (litterally) a thousand pink ramshead snails whose population exploded. I wanted SOME pink snails, but... you can't control that but so much. My goal was that the puffers would keep the population down, but in all three of my tanks (puffers and snails in each one), they had so much easy food that they ripped through all of them, just taking an easy bite out of each one (like that person who eats just the tops of all the muffins).

I want snails, and also, these guys now have no food they like. My idea is to keep a little tank for the pink snails and feed them a few at a time, so they'll have to actually eat the snails properly.

I am putting MTS in there, too, as I don't think they can rip through a population of them as fast (sand in all tanks). But still, I want the little snail tank.

What is the best way to do this? Do the snails need filtration, a heater...what are my options. I need it to be small, and as easy as possible. Willing to do what I need, but no MORE than I need.

Any suggestions welcome. I want a world with snails AND puffers.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this because I have a similar issue with snails and was considering dwarf puffers. I'll be watching the responses.

Okay there are a couple options.
Option A:Get a 5 gallon bucket. Put in some sand, java moss, and snails. Feed heavily and pretty soon you'll have more snails than you know what to do with!!!
Option B: Start up a 5-10 gallon nano but with just snails. You can make itlook nice and have a nice little tank!

Excellent, thank you. With those two examples you have given me information that lets me find when I can do. I’m thinking option too. I really love my snails, and they are as mesmerizing to me as Fish, in their own way. I will really enjoy a snail nanotank.
