What an interesting day!

I thought I would share my crazy day with you all, since I don't have anything else to do at the moment. I went to school at 7:30, had my first class and half of the second one when the fire alarm goes off. About 9 o'clock. We all went outside, thinking it was just another fire drill (we have many). When we got outside, we were told we had to walk all the way around the back of the school to the football stadium. That's when we knew something bad happened. We got out there and found out that a chemistry teacher spilled hydrochloric acid on herself, which is very corrosive. In the meantime, ambulances and fire trucks and all other kinds of vehicles were pulling in. Just as things began to calm down a little, some of the teachers start screaming because a girl was having a seizure! While it happened, she managed to get stuck in the bleachers, too. The ambulance pulled over to us, almost running someone over, and took her away. Then, just as they were leaving, ANOTHER girl had a seizure! So another ambulance came and took her away. Till all was said and done, we got dismissed at 11 and nobody could go in the school for anything, so EVERYONE had to go home on the buses (where were all parked in different spots than they usually are, so nobody could find their bus). Till I actually got home, it was 12.

So, I think this one rates a 9 or 10 on the crazy day scale!

Yeah! I forgot to mention that everyone was ok. The teacher had some burns, but nothing too serious.

HCl isn't likely to kill you, but it still hurts like a sun-of-a-bolivian ram. Glad to hear everybody is ok; I miss when fire alarms would get me out of school instead of just making me re-start a long experiment! enjoy your day off!

yeah HCL is good for a couple of scars, she should be glad that it wasn't hydro flouric acid, that passes thru the skin and then disolves the bones.

Glad to hear all are ok after the ordeal.
